Synergy Collie BESS Project

The Synergy Collie Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a utility-scale energy storage project designed to support Western Australia’s energy transition by enhancing grid stability, improving renewable integration, and strengthening system security within the South West Interconnected System (SWIS). Commissioned in December 2025, the project plays a critical role in enabling higher penetration of renewable energy while maintaining reliable power supply across the network.

330kV SUBSTATION COMMISSIONING

Tech West Power (TWP) was engaged to deliver specialist protection, commissioning, and testing services for the BESS installation. The scope included:

  • Protection relay configuration, testing, and validation
  • Secondary system testing and verification
  • HV switching support and commissioning coordination
  • SCADA interface verification and signal testing
  • Grid compliance testing and performance validation
  • Support during energisation and operational readiness
